SAT / ACT Score Calculator
Estimate your SAT or ACT score from your section-by-section correct answers, with an approximate percentile.
About this calculator
Estimate your SAT or ACT score from the number of correct answers per section, along with an approximate percentile.
SAT sections (Reading & Writing, Math) are scaled from 200–800 each based on the share of correct answers, for a total of 400–1600. ACT sections (English, Math, Reading, Science) are scaled from 1–36 each. Under the Enhanced ACT format (rolled out 2025–26), Science is an optional section reported on its own — your composite score is the average of English, Math, and Reading only. Because official scoring curves aren't published, the section scores use a simplified linear approximation — treat those as an estimate, not an exact prediction. The percentile shown, however, is looked up from the actual published percentile tables: College Board's nationally representative SAT percentiles and ACT's official National Ranks.
How to use
- Choose SAT or ACT.
- Enter the number of correct answers and total questions for each section.
- Press Calculate to see your estimated section scores, total/composite score, and percentile.
Tips
- The score itself is an estimate (official scoring depends on a non-public equating curve that varies by test date), but the percentile lookup uses real published College Board / ACT norms, which are also updated periodically as new graduating classes are added — so treat it as close, not guaranteed exact.
- ACT Science no longer counts toward the composite score under the Enhanced ACT format — it's shown here for reference only.
Formula
SAT section score = 200 + (Correct ÷ Total) × 600
ACT section score = round(1 + (Correct ÷ Total) × 35)
ACT composite = round(average of English, Math, Reading)
